We are looking for a Node.js Engineer to work with a leading consumer purchase insights company that leverages AI and fully permissioned data from 100M+ consumers to transform purchase signals into actionable business and marketing insights.
You will join our core engineering team and work closely with the Lead Engineer. You’ll help expand and future-proof a mission-critical RESTful API that powers insights from massive-scale credit card transaction data. This is not a standard CRUD environment, because our client processes 200+ billion rows. We are looking for someone who writes high-performance SQL, and understands distributed systems.
The current stack includes Node.js, Apigee, AWS (Redshift, RDS Postgres, S3). You’ll maintain this high-performance environment while helping drive a migration toward a modern, serverless, Snowflake-based architecture.
Working hours: up to a maximum of 6:30 PM CET, with particular importance placed on availability during the final hours of the workday.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js.
- API Development.
- Define and maintain Swagger / OpenAPI specifications.
- Write complex, highly optimized SQL for datasets exceeding 200B+ rows.
- Partner with the Lead Engineer to migrate legacy services into a Snowflake-centric, serverless ecosystem.
- Data Pipeline Integration.
- Work across AWS S3, Redshift, and RDS Postgres to ensure high data integrity and efficient data flows.
- Performance Tuning.
- Monitor and improve performance across both the Node.js layer and database layer.
Requirements
- Production-level Node.js backend experience (high-traffic APIs).
- Expert SQL skills: indexing, query planning, and performance tuning at massive scale.
- Experience working with data warehouses and large-scale analytics.
- Experience designing APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Apigee.
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud native data warehouses.
- Strong experience with AWS (S3, RDS/Postgres, Redshift).
